Our Call to Action:
“We call upon church parties to the settlement agreement to develop ongoing education strategies to ensure that their respective congregations learn about their church’s role in colonization, the history and legacy of residential schools, and why apologies to former residential students, their families, and communities were necessary.”
At St. Anne’s, our committee meets once a month to plan and deliver events that present learning opportunities that advance Truth in an effort to affect Reconciliation. A few examples of activities completed thus far include 2 book studies, the blanket exercise, films, and talks by elders. We also take opportunities to become involved in community events.
